이탈리아 작곡가 주세페 베르디(Giuseppe Verdi)의 오페라 맥베스(Macbeth)는 1847년 피렌체 페르골라 극장에서 처음 공연됐습니다. 리브레토(극본)는 프란체스코 마리아 피아베의 작품입니다.

1막 2장, 맥베스의 성, 스코틀랜드
맥베스 부인은 맥베스가 코도르의 테인(Thane)으로 임명되었고, 마녀들이 그가 스코틀랜드의 왕이 될 것을 예언했다는 편지를 읽는다.
