피자를 배달해준 배달부 아저씨에게 감사한 마음을 담아 따뜻한 포옹을 선물한 2살 꼬마.

피자 배달부는 가슴 한켠이 찡해질 수밖에 없었다.

단순히 2살 꼬마의 귀여운 애교 때문만은 아니었다. 사실 그에게는 말 못 할 사연이 있었다.

지난달 20일(현지 시간) 미국 abc뉴스는 로드아일랜드 지역의 한 가정집에서 포착된 CCTV 영상과 관련된 감동적인 사연을 전했다.

한 가정집으로 피자 배달을 갔던 남성 라이언 캐터슨은 뜻밖의 선물을 받게 됐다.

집에서 2살 꼬마가 뛰어나와 그를 반갑게 맞아주는 것이 아닌가. 꼬마는 다정하게 인사를 건넸고, 그에게 달려가 두 팔을 벌렸다.

라이언은 환하게 웃으며 꼬마를 꼭 끌어안아줬다. 이후 꼬마의 엄마가 다가와 집안으로 녀석을 데려갔다.

피자 배달부와 꼬마의 만남은 그렇게 짧게 끝났지만, 그 여운은 쉽게 가시지 않았다고.

알고 보니, 피자 배달부 라이언은 최근 사고로 10대 딸을 잃었다. 갑작스럽게 사랑하는 딸을 잃고 절망에 빠졌던 그는 매일 슬픔에 잠겨 있었다.

그러던 중 2살 꼬마에게 가슴 따뜻한 포옹을 받고 큰 힘을 얻었다는 것이다.

라이언은 “요즘 너무 힘들어서, 따뜻한 포옹이 필요했었다. 그때 마침 그 꼬마가 내게 달려왔다”고 고백하며 고마운 마음을 전했다.

이어 “부모들은 자식에게, 자식들은 부모에게 사랑한다는 말을 자주 전해주길 바란다”고 당부했다.

Last night when we got our pizza (and ranch) delivered, Cohen ran out to hug the delivery guy and tried to give him a kiss, too! 😂 We thought it was so sweet and funny, then realized that our doorbell might have caught the interaction on camera, and it did!! I hope it gives you a laugh and warms your heart like it did for us 🥰❤️ Even better, is that I posted this to my IG stories last night and somehow, it found it’s way to the man who delivered our pizza! Thank you, Ryan, for being so sweet with our little guy!Update: little did we know what Cohen’s hug to this stranger would mean. Someone showed Ryan the video I posted to my IG, so he messaged me, and I found him on FB so he could share the video. Through this, we found out that Ryan unexpectedly lost his daughter recently, and that hug from Cohen was a little blessing from God.
